I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice-cream! A few weeks ago, I had the privilege to visit Cape Town for my husband’s 30th birthday. Our visit was only two days so to make the most of it, we each made a list of the things we both wanted to see and do in the Mother City. My list included the following:
- Coffee at Truth Coffee
- Hike Lion’s Head
- Reward self for not dying on hike with a Crumbs & Cream ice-cream sandwich
So after hiking Lion’s Head, which by the way, is not nearly as easy as all the travel/fitness bloggers would like you to believe, we headed over to Sea Point for ice-cream sandwiches.
With bright colours and an actual swing in, you are bound to awaken your inner child. Needless to say, I had quite a bit of fun swinging on the swing while devouring my mint choc chip ice-cream. The Instax style photo wall is also pretty cool. It includes various photographs of people who have visited the store and the ice-cream sandwiches they built.
The ice-cream is delicious! I have an insatiable sweet tooth despite being diagnosed as pre-Diabetic last month. As this was also the only sweet thing Stephan allowed me to have on our trip, I appreciated it even more. I had the mint choc chip ice-cream with a brownie cookie while Stephan had the Oreo ice-cream with the rainbow cookie. Both equally delicious (although mine was slightly better.) 😉
Sugar-free, banting, vegan
If, like me, you have a sugar problem or if you’re banting or follow a Vegan lifestyle, have no fear. There are ice-cream sandwiches for you too! At the Johannesburg launch in Illovo, I had the banting ice-cream and cookies since it’s sugar-free. You won’t even know you’re not eating actual sugar. 😉
About Crumbs & Cream
Shahar Ben Artzi and Or Lahat and their husbands created Crumbs & Cream in 2016. The entrepreneurial sisters followed their hearts (and tastebuds) to create the fun-filled brand.
If you’re Cape Town based, head over to the Sea Point store and for the Jozi babes, Crumbs & Cream opened a new store in Illovo at Illovo Junction. Head over to satisfy your sweet tooth.
